Skull Splitter comes in a very small bottle Emmerdale was hoppy, surprisingly frothy but quite a nice light ale.

Skull Splitter and Owd Rodger taste like Barley wines and will knock your socks off. Strictly winter warmers me thinks.

Have a go with Old Speckled Hen or Waggledance. A lot easier to drink, very pleasant

Evryone raves about Landlord from Timothy Taylor. Not a big fan myself but it wins sheds loads of awards. Landlords lovely its good session ale cos its not too strong you can drink loads. SH4NX & Biscitt if you like Summer Lightning try Crop Circle same brewery but slightly less bitter and even more quaffable!!! Acksaw - Old Speckled Hen is OK - tends to be the only ale some pubs have so its a bit of a stand-by drink 'if you've got nowt else like'. Going back over the posts here - I really like that Brazilian stuff Brahma as well. Also Bravara and Mexican stuff like Sol and Corona nice in the summer. and what about German wheat beer? God I love that stuff! BEER BEER I love beer!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Aaaaahhhhhh German beer ;D All my formative drinking years (14-16 years old) were done drinking German beers, what fond memories ;D
Stibnite i have been given a bottle of Whitstable Bay Organic beer to sample along with another organic brew from Edinburgh brewers Caledonian called Golden Promise, i will give you my opinions in the next couple of days ;D

More on the brewery news.
Inbev the huge brewing business (includes Stella) is to close the hoegarrden brewery and move the brew elsewhere. Even Belgians are turning in their grave. They are also closing a lambic aging facility which probably dates back further. (lambic is a naturally fermented brew similar to cider which is used as a base for a lot of the flavoured belgian brews including my favorite gueze.)
On good news note, beerfest on friday was ace humpty dumpty lemon and ginger being a personal favourite. Also found a shop in norfolk which had 48 diffferent bottle conditioned ales from norfolk so have six of these to try this week.
lovely break good beer everywhere with adnams and woodefordes in all the pubs we went into.
Strange so many people like hen, never liked it myself, surrounded by it now as it is the "guest" beer in most GK pubs. Nothing to do with hens either ;D
