Ah yes forgot about this thread... Well my mates local pub had a mini real ale festival over the weekend where I sampled quite a few interesting brews. But the best beers I've had in ages are two pub regulars Swift One and Elderado both from the excellent Bowman Ales. If you can hunt some down I can't recommend them enough! www.bowman-ales.com/our_beers.htmlSwift One 3.8% A pale, golden quaffing ale with excellent flavours for its strength. Pleasingly hoppy throughout without being aggressive and also possessing of a fine aroma. The finish is dry with a small twist of sweetness at the end. If you feel that this is all rather pretentious then it can best be described as a bloody nice pint! Joint winner of South Hants CAMRA's Hampshire Beer of the Year 2007 at the Southampton Beer Festival. We are so honoured, in this our first year at the Bowman Ales Brewery. It makes all the effort worthwhile. Joint winner of Beer of Festival with Elderado in the Southampton Beer Festival 2007 Elderado 3.6% Ooh... Aah! A subtle injection of Elder Flowers defines this beer. Unlike some other brews of this type, there is no heavy floral scent, but more of the tiniest hint of this spring bloom. This beer has plenty of character and a lovely bitter finish. Joint Winner with Swift One of Beer of Festival in the Southampton Beer Festival 2007 (Press Release)

And now for something completely different............for those with a more adventurous taste you may like to try "Westons cloudy scrumpy cider"..........matured in old oak vats and it comes in a rather splendid 2 litre demijohn.............However, be warned ladies and gents this is a flat cloudy cider with a Alc vol of 7.5% - you have been warned. Try here www.westons-cider.co.uk
