Cheers for info peeps. I have XP (32bit) and have connected the controller already & the drivers installed, it just doesn't seem to work with my Steam games!thnks I will check the Steam forums though  |

Thats an odd one, Steam should just use your Windows Control Panel game controller list.
Go to control panel, and make sure all is well in the game controllers section there - you should be able to access the settings and have a visual representation of you pressing the buttons.

I installed the Steam PC demo of Left 4 Dead today. I then installed a 360 controller on my PC, started the demo, went to options->mouse/keyboard and told it to "enable" the controller. It worked.
I was able to play through both levels of the demo without touching the keyboard or mouse.
Looks like you just need the specific games to have support for the controller.

Think I might have to download Counter Strike again then... Its in my list, but I've only ever played it on Xbox back in the day. If I download CS: Source, can you play with people in the non source version, or should I just get both?

just got set up on steam over weekend and downloaded one of my old xbox favourite (deus ex invisble war) and the original aswell . got to say that the first game has dated but the second not as much .

having some trouble getting my pad to run with TF2. I have installed the Microsoft stuff mentioned above and adjusted the cfg files but for some reason I connot get the ' button menu thing to pop up. The EXEC something nothing at all happens when i press this and I have enabled it in the advanced settings in the keyboard menu.
Anyone else had similar issues???
I really need to get it sorted as I just dont enjoy TF2 on the keyboard and mouse.
got the pad working fine for L4D and Bioshock.
