Hello been searching for speed tests cos i don't believe I'm getting the full 4meg down & 486kbps upload, that virgin said I would. Have done a test at this site -  well worth a go. I was dissappointed with my results 1meg down & 385 upload. Hmmmph!  anyone know of any other sites? |

Thanks Biccy, but I had a problem with ADSL guide for some reason, I use XP & tried to download the Java & Opera crap to no avail & couldn't use their speed test, so eventually found the one above which is quite nice  I do like adslguide site for the stuff they have on there tho' |

Here's mine Moog, using the same tester. I'm on a humble Tiscali £14.99 2 Meg package with 256k upload; not a bad result I thought:  I'm not sure why your figures are so far off the supposed speed. I know factors such as the area you live in and telephone extension cables can have an effect but that loss seems a bit excessive. I would give your ISP some jip over those speeds, after all you are paying for it. |

I don't know about the distance bit Biscitt, mine says around 100 miles whereas I'm actually 180!?! What speed should you be running at Biscitt? The other bit I'm not sure about is the 'latency', mine seems comparitively low to both yours and Moog's, what's all that about??

I tries this twice first time I had a latency of 43ms but lower upload I think I've broken it London server is down. |

Here's another attempt  it seems to be getting better. I was emailed at the start of my contract with Virgin that speeds would fluctuate at first until it was sussed out what my connection could sustain effectively. lotsa big words in there ;D |
