Hmmm, my first home console (not technically a console but all I did was play games on it) was the speccy 128 +2, the one with the built in tape deck. None of this 1 game on a disc, you just had a C-90 tape with about 30 different copied games on it!!!!, only trouble was the 128 didn’t have a counter on the tape deck so unless you wanted to play the first game on either side of the tape you had to spend about twenty minutes winding the tape backwards and forwards to find that all familiar beeeeep, bip, beeeeep, biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip which signified the start of a game loading. Save points??? What are save points, if I wanted to carry on playing the game the next day, it had to stay on all night, (I ended up taping a bit of card over the light on the keyboard so that my parents couldn’t see it and make me turn it off). ;D I remember the frustration of waiting five minutes for a game to load, only for it to die right at the end and you’d end up with a white screen saying ‘Sinclair Spectrum 1982’ or something written down the bottom, my keyboard bows in the middle where I vented my frustration many times by slamming my fist down on it, I stopped doing this after a while as I thought it might eventually damage it permanently, I started punching the tape deck instead ;D, hence why it now needs a key wedged in it to keep the play button down. After all that abuse I still have it at home and it still works!!!!! (the key is still required of course). If I ever have burglars, I’ll won’t grab a baseball bat or golf club, I’ll pick up my speccy, they won’t stand a chance. ;D The games, Commando, Jet Set Willy, Hyper sports, Back to Skool, Renegade, Saboteur, Ikari Warriors, Operation Wolf, Elite to name but a few of my favourites and my all time favourite game ever Head over Heels. I don’t really have a favourite console as each one had certain games that made it for me, for the SNES there was Mario kart, Chaos Engine, Cannon Fodder, Street Fighter and then the Megadrive had Sonic, Speedball (grrrrr when is this game gonna be on live), Mega-lo-mania, Fade to Black and many more games that I can’t recall. Aaaah, long loading times, no save points, no online game play, most games maximum two players and we thought they were fantastic. Now we complain if our online multi national 16 player, hd graphics game seems a little ‘laggy’, hee hee, how times have changed. ;D Anyway, I’ll wipe the nostalgic tear from my eye and sign off, that damn thing called work is piling up while I write this rather length trip down memory lane.

first console technically was a megadrive but what got me gaming was a zx specturm first game ever played was trans am round a friends and i just had to have one!!!
Best console is tricky - either N64 or scarily the 360 (despite its reliability) both just have soo many games i like to play Soft spot for Xbox and Dreamcast and SNES though
Worst has to be Jaguat(what was i thinking!) and PS2(loads and loads of games but mostly w**k)

First was a Binatone, which maybe was what Maverick was thinking of? Best got to be the Megadrive for me, it restarted my passion for gaming. Forgotten Worlds was tops (looks rubbish now on Wii emulator) as was Strider and Streetfighter 2. Love my 360 as well and in my opinion at the moment its the best of the current generation of machines. The Wii is a one trick pony and the PS3 has a massive identity crisis. www.factorizer.co.uk/The 1st BAT,0,ffffff,000000,0.png[/img]

My first was an Amiga 500+, which my dad brought home for my 11th birthday back in 1991. It had Captain Planet and Bart vs the Space Mutants, which were great enough, but then I discovered xcopy and the world was mine I think pinball dreams or Leander would be my favourite game on it, with Silly Putty and R-Type (especially the loading music!) coming in close behind. As for favourite of all time... I was going to say SNES, simply for Mario All Stars and SF2 Turbo. And Yoshi's Island, which is the fiirst game I ever bought for myself! However, playing back those games, even Secret of Mana just doesn't have the magic there for me any more, so I'm gonna say my Xbox 360. Its got so many great games and until last week I was wondering what all these idiots were doing to get 3 red lights... but besides this obvious fault, its definitely the best console I've played, for so many reasons, but mostly simply because MS support it with so many fantastic game releases. Unfortunately I'm ina position where I have 20 X360 games, as well as about a thousand across all the other consoles I have, that I just don't want to play any, because there's always another I want to play as well!

First console was the mighty Sega Master console with a grand total of one game cartridge (some sort of Galaxians game) plus the built in maze game. Hadn't seen it for a while until it turned up at my sister's house this year. Now sitting in a cupboard somewhere.
A big gap until I got a 2nd hand Dreamcast a few years which was then replaced with a 2nd hand Xbox. And then finally I got my best console (the 360 of course) last year. Deal was my wife got a new house and I got a console and decent TV ;D (think I won that one).
