Hi guys, I'm thinking of changing Broadband providers based on some pretty sluggish performance in terms of upload and ping from my current supplier Plusnet. My research shows that BE broadband offer a pretty good upload speed of up-to 1.3Mb and low latency due to them owning their own network gear. Any of you guys had experience of them? How do they compare to other providers and do you have any other recommendation? Current Speedtest result:-  And this is my pingtest result (probably the best I've ever seen it, but it's quite often 'B' grade).  |

Well I am with O2 broadband which bought out BE and use the same network etc. and I am very happy with my connection. My download speed isn't too good, but that's down to my distance from the exchange. My upload speed and ping are pretty good though. I have generally only heard good things about BE. Give them a try.   |

Cheers Red, I've requested my MAC code today so should be able to swap within a couple of weeks. Just taken another ping test at peak time, this is why my online gaming is suffering...  About as much use as a cat flap in a budgie cage!! Speed drops off as well, too many using the network methinks.  Apparently BE use something called LLC which means it's independent of the BT network, it just uses the wires. I suppose that's why they seem to give me a better projected speed than all the other ISPs in my area? |

Ooooohhhh Yeeeaahh!!   They're still in the process of optimising the line so ping should improve over the next couple of weeks. That's more like an upload though. Nice! |

  Wooo...got a big ping ( oooh errr ) Im upstairs on the wireless so that might account for it....ill try later when i can get downstairs and plug it into the cable where my xbox is. Its like top trumps....Acksaw, you beat me ! |
