Anybody know what the difference is between the X4 and X41 headsets?
Whatever it is, is it worth the extra money.
X4's are only ebay new for £110 delivered

Hi Shaz,
Info below:
Ear Force X4 vs. X41 Comparison If you’re wondering what improvements have been made in the Ear Force X41, here’s a summary of how it compares to its highly acclaimed predecessor, the Ear Force X4:
Ear Force X4 Ear Force X41 Wireless Technology X4 Infrared (IR) X41 Radio Frequency (RF) Unlike IR, wireless RF does not require line-of-sight for proper operation. So, you can stand anywhere near your XBOX 360® and hear a clear, noise-free signal. Transmission Type X4 Analog X41 Digital Uncompressed wireless digital RF delivers CD-quality sound that rivals professional-grade wired headphones. Signal-to-Noise (SNR) X4 ~50dB X41 ~80dB Digital RF technology eliminates background noise inherent in analog IR wireless. Audio Quality X4 Cassette Tape X41 Digital CD Digital RF provides CD-quality sound for deeper bass and crisper highs. Dolby Surround Sound X4 5.1 Channel X41 7.1 Channel The X41 utilizes the latest Dolby 2.0 technology to support up to 7.1 channels of surround sound. Dolby Pro Logic® X4 Pro Logic II X41 Pro Logic IIx The X41 utilizes the latest Dolby Pro Logic IIx technology. Bass Boost Control X4 Slide Switch X41 Push Button A single push button on the headset activates the Bass Boost and beeps once to let you know it turned on. Transmitter Power X4 AC adapter X41 USB The X41 transmitter is powered by a USB port on the XBOX 360 or a nearby PC or laptop. This eliminates the need for an AC adapter. Extra Headphone Output Jack X4 No X41 Yes The X41 transmitter includes a headphone output jack with independent volume control for a second set of wired headphones, so a second player can hear the same Dolby surround sound transmitted to the X41 wireless headset. Ear Cushions X4 Velvet X41 Fabric Mesh Fabric mesh ear cushions provide better ventilation to the ears for increased comfort over long gaming sessions. Color Scheme X4 Grey/Beige X41 Black/White New color scheme distinguishes the new X-series models from the previous models. Talkback Cable X4 Active X41 Passive The new X41 talkback cable is more durable and works with the Microsoft® Racing Wheel and Chat Pad. Plasma TV Interference X4 Yes X41 No Plasma screens generate IR radiation that interferes with IR wireless headphone signals. The X41 digital RF wireless signal is immune to this interference. Battery Life X4 Up to 20 hours X41 Up to 25 hours An advanced battery management circuit in the X41 headset extends battery life. Battery Shut-Down X4 Gradual X41 Instant The X4 will continue to operate on low batteries, but the sound quality is drastically reduced. A battery boost circuit in the X41 allows it to operate perfectly until the batteries are totally dead, then it will instantly shut down so there’s no wondering if the batteries need to be replaced.
According to my tracker, I have a set of X41's sitting in customs at the moment ;D

Still have my x4 somewhere boxed up if you fancy them ? - I do not rate them due to the infrared comms bit.

Cam, did yours some through from customs yet?
Soggy, i'm gonna see whats under my christmas tree. The X41 don't use IR so they should be much better.

I know - I've been looking into upgrading! - that said - I unboxed and tried them in a different room yesterday and they were much better - could still hear a slight hiss though. In theory - on the x41's - there should be no hiss at all. The USB power is another bonus.

Well, i got them two days ago, to "try out" before they go away for Christmas. I was playing Batman first and the sounds were astonishing. Then i played MW2 and the explosions from the grenade launchers etc were truly amazing. The only downside, is i don't really notice the mic monitoring working, i'm not sure if it's me, but if i turn the volume on the headsets up to really "get into" the game, then i can't hear my voice at all. Does enyone have this?
