Has anyone succeeded in converting their dvds to Sony PSP? I've tried with various conversion software to no avail would appreciate any techy tips.
Thanks
PS I use a Apple Mac so no good recommending PC only software however I'd like to know what settings a successful rip uses e.g. screen size, fps, bit rates, codecs etc. etc

Charmed 0ne gave me a link to a programme that did this ages ago.
I'll see if I can dig out the e-mail.
Oops... just saw your edit.
I presume the programme he sent me was PC only.
I can't remember what settings I use as I haven't used it for ages. In fact I think I've removed it from my system...

I use the following (for my ipod) - there is a Mac option I think dvdvideosoft.com also have to use Handbrake.fr
Basically the first one decrypts the file type and the second is the program which imports it back into viewable format. Both should work for Mac/PSP iirc. The Handbrake software has difference conversion depending on what you want to watch the film on
Am I making any sense whatsoever....probably not

Yeah I have Handbrake and it works fine for converting to the iPod but when I convert for the PSP it sees the file but I keep getting the unsupported format message. I've tried various different picture settings and codecs etc as recommended on web sites and it still doesn't work. I must be doing something fundamentaly wrong.

dvd shrink is a good program, also DVD Fab. I use both of these for different reasons, but for conversion of AVI's to other formats, you can't beat "super" it's free and it just works, dunno about mac version though

Could anyone who has succeeded in copying from a DVD to PSP send me a copy of the settings used for a successful transfer please. I've tried lots but none have worked.
I recently updated the firmware on the PSP and am wondering if that has caused the problem, its now at version 5.03.
