Can anyone suggest a good power over ethernet kit that actually costs less than the 360's own wireless adapter?
I heard it was a cheap and more effective way to create a wireless connection with the 360 without actually having a wireless router(I don't)but I looked at a few on ebay and they dont mention speed also most look like 100mbs as opposed to 200. All the other kits I have seen (maplin etc)however are in excess of £70 which is no saving at all.

Hmmmm not really heard of a 'Power over Ethernet' but I bought the lad a Belkin Wireless G Gaming adapter that works fine with my Netgear Wireless router, £30 from ebay new.

I don't think you'll get a kit cheaper than the wireless as you need 2 units - one for the router and one for the xbox.

Lizzie posted this link, not sure if this it what your after, 6. Connect your Xbox 360 to a wireless network without an official adaptor The good news is you don't have to drop £50 on Microsoft's offensively overpriced Wi-Fi adaptor. The bad news is you'll need a laptop with W-Fi to do it. Head to Control Panel – Network Connections (In Windows XP) or Network & Sharing Center – Manage Network Connections (in Vista). Select the Local Area Connection and the Wireless Network Connection at once, then right-click and hit 'bridge connections'. Disconnect then reconnect to your wireless network, run a network cable from the laptop's Ethernet port to the 360's, and you should be good to go. Unfortunately, you may have to remove the bridge (repeat the above process and you'll see the option) whenever you want to browse the net with the laptop. link www.techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/10-things-microsoft-doesn-t-tell-you-your-xbox-360-can-do-464200

I've got a set of these too. They are brilliant. I used to use WiFi connection but found that my kids Wii controllers interfered too much with the WiFi connections - I kept having trouble getting into COD4 games etc. And so invested in these and not had any problems since.

Cheers guys! The latter ones are the ones I saw on youtube but I was under the impression that the 200mbs ones and indeed the devices themselves were a hell of a lot cheaper. Thanks to all for the input but after reviewing it I think I will give it a miss and keep with the direct connect I am using at the mo as I never have the laptop and 360 running at the same time.
