Haven't downloaded it yet but is definitely on my to do list, all the trailers for this look brilliant, with some really clever features in it.

Very good? Now i am very surprised!  I played and completed the demo lastnight at my Playstation owning friends house and can't say i was impressed at all. As demos go it's pretty damn uneventful and the gameplay/combat/AI was just average at best. You could say the whole 'Nector' thing is a interesting feature (I do like the way you go mad if you OD) but doesn't anybody else think it's too alike the 'Instinct/Predator' feature in the console versions of FarCry(Also made by Ubi)? Obviouly i would be very silly to slate a whole game from just a early limited demo as i know on paper the full game boasts alot of cool features like, big team multi-player, vehicle combat, 4 player co-op(Which can make even the most average games excellent fun with friends) but i do feel like it's one of those "haven't we been here before" game experiences. I'm guessing this game will really shine once you get into the urban areas, lose your mask and see the real gritty stuff of the Haze plot. Anyway, it's a big fat thumbs down from me so far and i'll be very surprised if my opinions change by the time it hits the 360. |

I know what you mean re the samey stuff - I don't think thats a bad thing as I'd love CRYSIS on a console. This is the nearest so far. If it's coming out on the 360 I'll pick it up for that - unless CRYSIS hits first (I live in hope)

The thing about Haze it's made by Free Radical. You know, Timesplitters fame.
They seem like a bunch of english blokes having a good go at making a decent game. I'd like to see 'em do more. Not sure the subject they've chosen is worth it though. Quite generic.
Makes me want to buy it just to support them. That's if I had a PS3 that is!

This is far from a Crysis substitute Soggy. If anything i would keep an eye on the forthcoming 'Far Cry 2', that looks alot better.
Haze is not strictly made by Free Radical as it's more of a joint verture with Ubi apparently, and not just in the sence that Ubi are the producers. Also this seems pretty clear in my opinion as the game or demo atleast has a very Ubisoft shooter feel, eg: weapons, scopes/zooming in. (Not always a bad thing by the way)

What a waste of a exclusive! I'm sure Resistance 2 and Killzone will sooth the pain for the PS FPS fans! (Well fingers X'ed anyway!)

I thought the gameplay I'd seen looked a bit crappy.
It's a real shame for the developers. It's this sort of thing that will put them out of business. I can see Ubisoft dumping them (might be a good thing).
What I don't understand is when they're making these games they must know they're crap! Perhaps that's they're problem. They can't see crap even if it's in front of their face.
Probably Ubisoft forcing blandness on them.

Was thinking about buying this, then read a review on Gamecentral, won't be bothering now.
Oh well at least there is metal gear to look forward to.

Don't know where the reviewers got their copies of the game to review, they surely can't be final renditions of the game being reviewed a while back, even the demo I played (which I liked btw) was not half bad and that stated this was not a final production state of the game.
I won't have any issues buying this and if the sale copy does turn out to be a bit naff then it goes straight back to game for a refund (thanks Game for such a wonderful returns policy).
BTW, played the Condemned 2 demo, now that WAS crap.
