Can you get two 'ally' achievements on the same play through? First time I went through the game I only used Tally and Wrex but it only gave me Tally's ally achievement and not Wrex's, I think I may have used other characters to see what they were like but didn't think I played with them so much as to not get the achievement. I am nearing the end of my second play through and have used Ashley and Kaidan from the start. I have played the game in the suggested level order but nearing the end I went to Noveria before Virmire and kept a gamesave prior to making the choice(not going to spoil the plot here!), once done I will be at the end of the game and should receive either characters 'ally' achievement, then just have to reload about 4 hours and repeat the process with the other character to get their 'ally'. Doing the funky worm Played through twice and Liara, Ashley and the Asari consort all know me a hell of a lot better now but does anyone know how many romance subplot there are? I only know of one more male conquest in the form of Tally but what are the options for a female character? I ask as I really want to have a Wrex subplot as it would probably be the funniest video ever created in a videogame.

I'm reliably informed by a relative who played through the game with a female Shepard that Wrex isn't available for romance. You get to pick Kaidan instead of Ashley but can still choose Liara (oo-er missus) . Not sure who else you get to choose from, Garrus maybe? Incidentally, her little six year old son absolutely idolises 'Wrex the dinosaur man' and keeps asking if there's going to be a game based on him.... I'd buy it if there was one

Then Garrus is the next challenge haha! Hey if Tally is available then no reason Garrus ain't.
I would also like a game based on the big guy as he has more personality than most of the cast put together, make it a cross between GoW, Assassins Creed and ME itself. The story is already set in the fact he is looking for a way to save his race. It's hard to explain but the three main human cast are a bit...lifeless and bland and being very anti racism it is soooo easy to hate certain characters *cough..Ashley..Cough*.

I really hope in the sequel we get to see more of Wrex. I'd also like to see a bit more character interaction between your NPCs, the little chats they sometimes had in elevators were quite illuminating (Wrex telling off Ashley for her assumptions about the Krogan gave me a chuckle) but I'd like to see a lot more, in the style of Bio Ware's earlier Baldur's Gate 2 (my fave RPG of all time). Perhaps my biggest disappointment in the main game was that the side quests for the alien crew members (Wrex's armour, Garrus and the evil doctor, and Tali's pilgramage) weren't given a more 'mission' like treatment, with more dialogue cut scenes etc.. I really wanted to see Tali's ramshackle fleet

I agree, I also feel the party characters backgrounds were not physically explored enough(apart from in speech on the Normandy).
I posted in 'grrrr' yesterday about not getting achievements but it ends up I bit my own arse by trying to kill time at the end. I thought if I swapped Virmire and Noveria over I would be able to lose whoever on Virmire go strait onto the end and get the 'ally' achievement for Kaidan or Ash(I used both all the way through) then reload Virmire and repeat the process with the other character to get their 'ally', but it ends up you have to do it Virmire then Noveria as the characters have to go through the repercussions of what happened on Virmire.
I still keep having the problem of the game reverting to medium difficulty after each play which is a nightmare having to remember to up the difficulty all the time as you can't change the difficulty once you start or you lose you're Hardcore/Insane achievement.
I can't wait to see how the character you created and choices you made in ME1 will affect ME2&3, this wasn't implemented very well in KOTOR boiling down to being asked about 10 questions and the game adding characters/plots accordingly.

Me neither! I really want to see what happens with the choice made at the end of Noveria regarding the queen. I actually agonised about that decision for about 5 RL minutes... and ended up regretting the choice I made after all that!

hmmm...i love this game so much - not played it for a while so must get back into it. personally i was gutted when i realised i had to make THOSE decisions...i guess this is the same as aeris in ffvii (never played it) and just for a sec there at the end i thought they had pulled a masterstroke with your character and produced the best game ending ever, but no they stopped short, which i suppose is understandable if they are makin sequels. oh - an i dont know about you guys but id like some more plot involving tali - for her story guys, c'mon

It really sucks that there are no Multi-player RPGs on the 360! Final Fantasy is okish but not worth the money and still suffers from screamingatlanticcousinitis and Phantasy Star is way overpriced for a way outdated game. Give me Mass Effect, Oblivion(not mmo...just multi), Fable, Lost Odyssey in co-op multi and I will be a happy man. Too Human looks good but don't think it's multi...not sure??? I know Tali well mate would like to have seen the ramshackle fleet too. Did any of you meet her father? you are supposed to be able to.

I never met Tali's dad and I've also had no real luck getting any romance going with her - after doing 'Tali's Pilgrimage' assignment my conversation options seem to dry up. How do you get them going again? I read that Mass Effect 2 will take into account previous decisions from Mass Effect via old save games - that should be awesome, can't wait to see some of the long term consequences!

There was a specific order to the Tali sub-quest but I can't for the life of me find the forum I found it on, and yes it was a case of saying the correct thing at the correct time...like the big Krogan talking on the communicator(Virmire I think?) as many have mentioned he can be talked down but I have never had the option. As with most quests/options I think it's all depends on who you have in you're party at the time.
The continue save option boggles the mind as there are already several ways to complete ME1, hope you kept both renegade and paragon game saves! I deliberately saved the Arachni as I had a sneaky feeling they would appear in future games whether you saved them or not...like KOTOR, you fought Revan even though he/she wasn't in the game other than for that one fight.
