Just for info. I sorted out the problem with transferring data to the NAS
The properties for the Network card (i think) needed to be adjusted to 100 Full Duplex.

Why did you stop using Tversity
I'm still trying to work out the pros ans cons of Tversity VS TwonkyMedia
I accept Tversity free and (in theory, but beyond my competence) Twonky can be directly installed on a NAS (Linux knowledge needed)
TVersity transcodes on the fly (but far to slow for my liking)
But as for streaming (in a format already recognised by 360) from the pc, what do they offer over WMP11?

goth1k Twonky can be directly installed on a NAS (Linux knowledge needed) But as for streaming (in a format already recognized by 360) from the pc, what do they offer over WMP11? The Linux Knowledge you need to know is 'nowt' I don't know Linux, the same as I don't understand any code. What I do understand is how to use the application. Its the same as loading up a M$ program. You know what it dose and why, the inner workings who cares? Twonkey sits in between the 360 (or any other device) and your storage medium, and litterly interprets whats on the NAS, file format, where its going and ensures it can be played back, streamed, viewed. (Your NAS (Once mapped) can and will still be seen by your PC to save to/from) I think what they offer is the ability to expand on the media playback and integrated any other products/systems you introduce. An example could be playback from your NAS to your ipod or stream internet radio while you are outside (weather permitting) having a BBQ. No PC/Xbox required I think paying for Twonkey is a pain, its not much but its still something...

Yes, Twonkys good if you buy a NAS with it pre-loaded. But I didn't. My own fault for not researching enough before splashing the cash. (very unlike me)
So Now i have solved the slow transfer speeds and re-installed tversity, things are moving along a lot quicker now.
I DO notice the difference between the 360 that is wired into the network and the one in the other room connected wirelessly. The most difference noticed is when fast forwarding through a video clip, buffering is MUCH shorter on the wired one.

I just connected my HDD to play my music one day and decided to try the movies i have and low and behold they played directly. I still have TVersity installed but only really use it if my 360 cant play a file for some reason which i find now and again, but very rarely...
