Oooh, a book bit on the forum (tho I had to search ) For fantasy, nothing beats Katherine Kerr, and her Deverry Cycle, except perhaps the writings of Robin Hobb - stunning stuff Others I like Christopher Brookmyre (very funny crime novels) Kate Atkinson (etremely well written whodunnits) Mark Billingham (excellent crime novels) Terry Pratchett Eoin Colfer (kids book, but very funny) PJ Tracy (US crime novels) Iain Banks (not the Iain M Banks sci-fi stuff tho) ...and a tonne of other stuff that my missus recommends to me - she reads 2 novels A DAY!!!

Though the last Brookmyre was a little disappointing. *puts amanzon voice on* If you lilke them, you'll love Stuart MacBride. Excellent thriller writer - just read his latest one. Slightly disturbing cannibalism serial killer based

Excellent thriller writer - just read his latest one. Slightly disturbing cannibalism serial killer based *cough splutter* I thought his last two were a return to form after the somewhat diappointing "Be My Enemy" As for McBride, according to my better half, we have one in the house "somewhere" We do have over 3000 books, and she surreptitiously sneaks them in the house "What, this book, oh we've had it AGES!!!" It works both ways, "what, GRID, incredibly old game, been in the cupboard years"

Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks was dull and predictable. Maybe I've just read too many of them but I just didn't enjoy as much as the rest. That won't stop me buying the next one (due Aug) Re keeping books - I don't, I've probably got a dozen or more lying about but only because I haven't found anyone to pass them onto yet. I rarely re-read books and would rather give them to someone to enjoy than for them to gather dust (and take up valuable space)

Just starting on a new book called White Star by James Thayer. Basic story is about a New York District Attorney who is asked to look into a very public murder by a sniper. He is asked to this because he was a sniper in Vietnam. At the moment it is easy to read and moves with a decent pace.
Unfortunately it's availability is a bit like rocking horse poo. If you fancy reading it, let me know if you want a loan once I've finished it.
