I see mainly filmic topics in this thread so thought I'd recommend a few of the recent Greatest Hits CDs that have recently been released.
Jamiroquai - High Times Singles 1992-2006: You either love 'em or hate 'em. I go through phases of both, but currently Love Em. All the classics on one CD instead of 6 individual albums (in some cases quite mediorce) so this is a good balance.
Charlatans - Forever: The Singles: Everything from The Only One I Know (aaah memories) to Love is the Key and the very excellent Up at the Lake. Think anyone who's got a little bit Indie in them should own this.
Finally,
Paul Weller - Hit Parade: Brilliant! Best of Paul Weller, in the Jam, with Style Council and bit of his solo work. Again - the best bits of an artist with a huge back catalogue which people might feel daunted to get into.
