i don't know if any of you had one of these funky little machines, in some ways better than a PS2 i think, however, most of world didn't aggree. Anyone got a fave DC game. I have fond memories speending hours playing Quake3 on DCLive or should i say spending hours trying to get a game. Even had a copy of Half-life off e-bay before my DC gave up on me. Sad.... Lots of good ideas badly executed. Quite like that, might have it on my Headstone one day.

Yeah, I've still got mine. I still play on it every once in a while.
My faves were Crazy Taxi, Powerstone, Soul Caliber and Virtua Tennis.
It was/still is a very good console that was sadly overlooked by most people.

Tee off was the only golf game I'd play. 4x4 thunder was as eye bleedingly fast as Burnout3! and it had short cuts (genius), I really liked snosurfers, clunky handling, but bags of atmosphere. sadly I only have money & time to own 1 console, so I traded my DC for xbox.... I miss the light start up screen & funky noise. & DC gave birth to Metropolis street racer - grandad to Gotham!

I miss DC online now with my bb connection, but luckily I joined UA- the xbox online community is sadly S£$!( without UA.) Mainly cos of those bloody yanks!

I love the DC and still play on mine quite reguarly. Mostly just play shmups on it now as most of it's Street Fighter games have been rendered redundant by Anniversary Ed on the Xbox. Fave games would have to be: Trizeal Shikigami No Shiro 2 Giga Wing 1 + 2 Border Down Rez They're still making games for it in Japan, its just a shame that they get little or no coverage over here. When you look at the DC's best 10 games, they're invariably as good as any other systems top 10. Just a shame there were'nt more of 'em...

The Sega Dreamcast was the first console to introduce me to onkline gaming via 'The Dreamarena' service. I used to spend hours playing a really simple game called 'CHU CHU ROCKET' where you had to direct streams or mice away from big cats into their little space rockets ;D . Shenmue was another great DC classic game that I must have spent far too much time playing. It was ironic, Id go to work...then come home, turn the DC on with Shenmue in, then get back to work in the game......lol. It's the only game I know that encouraged you to have to make your in game charater get a job and work (via mini games). I'll always have fond memories of the little grey box that was my Dreamcast....alas I'm not sure where it is now. I lent it to someone AGES ago and don't think I ever got it back! lol Oh well, I'm more thann happy with my current consoles . Note - Info on the next instalment of Shenmue coming to Xbox 360 HERE

I agree with all comments above, the DC was flipping fantastic. It's all thanks to this lil baby that i got into online gaming! I loved Quake online and must brag i was pretty good at it I did have the mouse and keyboard tho. My handle was 'Delta9'. My fave game has to be Shenmue! Never knew a game like it, just pure class. I find it funny thinking back to the nights i would stay up until the early hours focused on getting the character back home to rest in bed after he had been hurt in a 4 man kung-fu fight! (Crazy) I also had MSR(Project Gotham Zero!), Crazy Taxi, Dead or Alive 2(In memory it looked just the same as the present Xbox version.)

I bought a Dreamcast quite recently, as there were loads going cheap on eBay. Its a great console, and there are loads of excellent games still available. I hooked mine up to my TV via a VGA converter box and it really improves the picture, no fuzziness like the Gamecube has via scart. Mind you, after the 360, everything else looks pretty poor in comparison!

Hello Wide. does it still work for online play? have you got Dreamkey so you could browse online? I'd consider getting a second hand one again....

Hi Moog, i'm sure it still works for online play, and there's still a wee Dreamcast community out there. But, the problem comes if you are connected via broadband. You would need to buy a special broadband converter, and the last time I looked they cost about 80 quid!!! (gulp)
If you're using dial-up you'll be ok, most Dreamcasts I've seen on eBay come with the Dreamkey CD. I picked mine up for 20 quid plus a tenner postage with 6 games.
