you can probably get away with it being on 2 computers, as part of the work I do in software testing, I do all the installations and have had to install vista on a few test machines several times, always the same machines and in the past I've ended up speaking to someone who works in Microsoft to get an activation key - they ask you how many computers it's installed on, and you could give them any number you like coz they can't check, so you just say none, or that yuo've changed your computer or something.

Of course. There's no REAL way of them checking. Its only when a key is used on multiples of computers they'd start to worry. Of course I didn't advise you to do that, and it would be in breach of your EULA, but when Vista costs as much as an Xbox, you might as well get some value from it! Yeah, but the real problem i have is that i got Vista as an oem disc, for a pc i built myself. Now from what i have read online, these oem discs "tie" themselves to one pc, unlike retail versions which you can put on other pc's.... I can get hold of Vista ultimate legit, but not sure about putting that on the netbook. So what do you think XP has over Vista.....i think vista is pretty stable now, possibly hogs more resouces if you don't stay on top of it

Vista is very stable, I love it, but the point wasn't that XP has anything over Vista, more that Vista has nothing over XP. The only difficulty I've had with Vista is that over a week or so its using about 90% of the RAM (8GB) and it starts to get a bit harder for it to think things through. A swift reboot and its back to about 25%.
As for putting Ultimate on the netbook, no reason why not if you're gonna use any other version other than Basic. You can turn off Aero and all the other cool tricks that make it prettier anyway, and get all the other benefits you might use.

Well, i got a bluetooth mouse to use with it and i'm so pleased overall with its useability. Great little pc and perfect size keyboard. Highly recommended. Got a few little games, popcap type stuff, just deciding which media player/codecs to install
