Thanks for the info Soggy so you recommend the higher speed plugs for gaming?
I'm a bit concerned whether they'll work ok as I have an old house with a strange wiring system.

I know it defeats the object of the discussion , but can you not just use a wireless router with wireless adaptors in both xbox's or ethernet bridges into the xbox's. ?

I have a wireless Apple adaptor but not sure if the 360 would go on it plus I've heard about interference being and problem and connection dropping on the 360 plus these plugs look really easy to set up.

Ok chaps and chappesses with me having 2 x 360's now I'd like to link them together or onto Live at the same time. These pluggy things look like the simplest way of doing that, UNKAL has your set up worked OK? Hey Biccy, yep they are working just fine and they're the 85mbps verisons. I would say you can't go wrong with them. Will both your 360's be in the same room? If so I'd get a little router run that from the homeplug and then run both 360's off the same router. I've just got an iBook so am about to combine them with a wireless router so that I have the best of both worlds - PC & ibook on wireless and 360 on hardwired homeplug. Hope that helps ;D My next project is a networked hard drive running independently of both the PC and iBook - YIKES!

Think of it like this Biscuit if all you are interested in is internet speed. If you have an 8mb connection you will need a minimum 16mb plug. If you want to transfer files between appliances - stream movies/music ect - buy the fastest you can afford. Your wiring system shouldn't make too much difference. The whole house will be on one feed in from the transformer.

Filtered is when you buy an extension lead that proclaims to protect your equipment from electrical spikes/surges etc. As this filters the frequencies that homeplug networks need - it won't work.

If you mean the router that connects into the phone line then that will be fine - if you just want to connect more than one device into a plug - use a hub (cheaper)

They do but be warned - its big and more expensive than buying a single and a hub!

I wonder why it doesn't support 200mbps? I presume it only works with Netgear routers also?

One 360 will be hard wired into the router and the other will rove about the house so I should only need the two plugs.
By the sound of it the 85Mbps will be fine for gaming.
