There looks to be a few of us with this so I thought I'd start a new thread.
I'm really enjoying GT5P. The races where you have to go from the back of the pack to the front in 1 lap can be pretty intense. Never had a Sony console before and this is my first experience of GT but so far it's pretty good. Have to say, a driving simulator where you can crash into a wall at 160mph and drive away unscathed is a bit lacking but I treating it as a halfway house between an arcade racer and Forza 2.
But my god it's pretty! This is probably what will happen with PS3 games. It can do better graphics etc but on multiplatform games devs will go for the 360 first and then port onto the PS3. Most cases the 360 version runs better, basing this on IGN's head to heads. Only games solely developed for the PS3 seem to run this well, even then there's a few turkeys. Plus I agree with SoggyShoe about online games, so few people have headsets! Give me R6V2 or GoW anyday.
Anyway, back to GT5P. I've got gold in all of the C races apart from the one where you have to get the Suzuki capuccino around a lap in a ridiculously short time, just the bronze on that. Done most of B at gold and have just started on the A races. Still loads of cars to buy and haven't touched the arcade races yet. This could be a good online game and look forward to trying it out.

I'm up for that - I've just got A class to go - need a Ford GT for it and don't have the credits yet. The handling isn't as good as Forza2. Like you say though - the graphics are amazing. Are there any other essential PS3 purchases I should make? One thing they haven't addressed for GT5 is the way you can use other cars as walls to bounce off - the physics engine needs a lot of work to address this kind of thing. Going to try my Logitech MOMO wheel on it at some point.

Online isn't too great either. Tried to go online and couldn't join a race. Also, you can only join a race (if you can do it) randomly, aparently there is no way of joining a friend online, it's pot luck. Still great fun offline and I need the Ferrari F1 car! Edit:Just found this on the playstation website which might help me get online and anyone who's had problems. Note it'll help me so I might just try again later.

So you guys still enjoying it then?
I did have and good go of my mates copy the other week and probably play a bit more later tonight(Going to bug him to let me try online) after the pub.
I do really like the game and would say if a owned a PS3 the full game would have to be a must buy. As Prologe is really a big demo it's hard or unfair to compare to say Forza 2 or something but going from the gameplay at this point i would say it fulls somewhere between PGR and Forza interms of controls. I'm not sure that's something i want out of a "sim racer" but one thing is for sure and that is the game is going to be mega popular!
I do have some niggly little complaints with the game but as i don't own it and the fact it's not a complete game i'll keep them to myself at this point.
One thing i do really hate though, but maybe this my problem wit the PS3 pad... I hate using the pads face buttons as default to play driving games. It was all well and fine back when i owned a PS and GT but since Xbox(and Dreamcast) showed me the plesures of trigger contols i wonder why the hell is GT5 stuck back in the past!

Its fairly easy to configure the ps3 pad to use the two triggers for accelerate and brake. I'm still enjoying it but it ain't no Forza!

As for other games on the PS3, try Everybody's Golf World Tour. I can't get enough of it! So addictive and fun to play. I recommend it to anyone. Another awesome title to consider is Drake's Uncharted. Fanstastic game!

I got it off a website - I can email it if you want it - you just pop it on a usb stick in the correct folder and then copy it to the PS3 - really easy.

Ha ha haaa! The F1 car at last. 2,000,000 credits was disheartening but now I can give up breaking for quite a few corners.
Cheers Soggy!
